Job Description
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Reporting to the Team leader of Electrical Services, you will be a qualified and experienced electrician, able to work as part of our Network Services team based in Te Kuiti.
As an Electrician you will deliver a high level of duties through maintenance, repair, and fault response on TLC’s electrical distribution network. This will include:
liaising with control centre, dispatch, and operations staff.
Hanging and maintaining meters and related equipment.
completing proactive and corrective maintenance as scheduled in work plans.
The role includes climbing up the odd power pole or two and working in weather that can be challenging.
Your technical skills are only part of the story. If you can bring a great attitude, a sense of humour, and evidence of a strong commitment to Health & Safety, this will go a long way toward you being the successful applicant.
Living locally in the King Country is also crucial to allow a timely response to faults.
This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 Hours per week worked Monday to Friday, you will also be required to participate in the after-hours faults roster on a basis of every 1 in 4 weeks. Any time worked outside of standard working hours is paid at a minimum rate of time and a half, and allowances are paid when applicable. There will also be opportunities to work overtime outside of the faults roster.

current practicing license as a Registered Electrician
Electricity distribution experience (preferable)
Ability to work autonomously.
Problem solving skills and a positive “can do” attitude.
Excellent communication skills
Lifting capacity up to 20kg
Commitment to meeting customer needs
Great self-motivation to meet deadlines.
