Job Description

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Reporting to a motivated and supportive HR Manager you will have the chance to make your mark within a values driven, people first organisation that is constantly looking at how we can do things better so we can deliver better outcomes to our customers.

This varied role is a mix of HR coordination, operational and strategic HR that supports the development, capability and success of our business.  There is plenty of scope for autonomy and development.  You’ll need to pride yourself on your communication, influencing and negotiation skills, be curious, capable, people smart and not afraid to get stuck in. Your role will involve advising on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, supporting HR initiatives and projects, and facilitating learning and development programs. You will work closely with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable HR information and services. You will also have the opportunity to use our HRIS system - ELMO, to manage HR processes and data.

To become the preferred candidate and be successful in the role you will have had experience and possess skills in the following areas:

Essential Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across the business
  • Confidence in handling sensitive issues and escalating when needed
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desirable Skills

  • A solid foundation in HR processes and New Zealand employment legislation
  • Previous experience as an HR Advisor with capability experience
  • Experience working in a unionised environment
  • Exposure to an HRIS, specifically ELMO
